Release Notes - 23ʳᵈ of July 2026
We are excited to announce the latest major deployment for Invent Medical. This release introduces powerful new clinical tools, multi-branch operations, calendar enhancements, insurance workflows, and performance improvements across the platform.
🦷 Perio Chart (Periodontal Charting Module)
A comprehensive, full periodontal charting module reachable directly from the patient’s clinical charts.
- Exam History & Tracking: Each patient can have multiple dated perio exams. All 32 teeth are charted across six sites per tooth. Teeth that are missing or omitted can be skipped, automatically excluding them from exam statistics.
- Clinical Data Tracked:
- Probing Depth, Gingival Margin, and Mucogingival Junction (MGJ).
- Furcation and Mobility.
- Clinical Attachment Level (CAL): Calculated automatically by the system.
- Site Indicators: Bleeding, Suppuration, Plaque, and Calculus markers per site.
- Dual Visualization:
- Graphical Arch Chart: Rendered over anatomically accurate tooth shapes showing gum lines, pocket fill, MGJ lines, and furcation marks.
- Data Grid: Interactive table display for numerical entry.
- Clinicians can toggle between chart view, grid view, or both, and customize displayed rows to simplify their screen.
- Fast Data Entry & Touch Support:
- Auto-advancing cursor (forward/backward) via keypad entry that skips excluded teeth.
- Triplet Mode: Instantly fills all three sites of a tooth from a single entry.
- Side panel buttons tailored specifically for touch screens.
🏢 Multi-Company & Branch Management for Medical
- Branch-Specific Records: Appointments, encounters, procedures, prescriptions, insurance claims, referrals, recalls, rooms, and provider production goals are strictly tied to their respective branch. Lists and forms now explicitly indicate and allow setting the record's origin branch, and the calendar adjusts automatically to display rooms of the active working branch.
- Unified Patient File: Patient files remain unified across all branches. A patient can be treated at any branch while preserving a single consolidated medical history. Appointment templates are also shared globally across all branches for one-time setup.
- Department-Level Workflows: Each branch/company now supports dedicated Medical departments and sub-departments. Appointments, encounters, procedures, and forms automatically inherit the relevant department from the branch or originating appointment.
📅 Appointment Calendar Enhancements
- Expanded View Lines: Added 19 new appointment view lines (increasing the total built-in options from 31 to 50). New indicators include:
- Appointment procedures.
- Lab or imaging order status.
- New patient tags (displayed as text, icon, or badge).
- Insurance status to send (displayed as text, icon, or badge).
- Primary family member details.
- Patient clinical history notes.
- Custom Fields on Calendar: Both Appointment Custom Fields and Patient Custom Fields can now be rendered directly on the calendar view, grouped under dedicated sections in the line editor.
- Interactive Waiting Area: Clicking a patient in the waiting area now automatically jumps the calendar to the exact appointment date, scrolls into view, and selects the patient.
👥 Patient & Family Management
- Advanced Family Operations:
- Remove a member from a family.
- Set/reassign any member as the primary family member.
- Move a member to a different family record.
- Relationship Tracking: Define and record specific relationships relative to the primary family member.
🩺 Procedures & Insurance Coding
- Dedicated Procedure Categories: Procedure categories now feature a streamlined setup screen displaying only relevant fields (Category Name and Parent Category), with a direct link to the full product category page if needed.
- Category Access Permissions: Restrict specific procedure categories to authorized users and roles. Hidden categories and their underlying procedures will not appear during procedure entry.
- Insurance Alternate Codes: Procedure templates now support insurer-specific or global alternate coding. During claim generation, the system prioritizes insurer-specific codes, falls back to the global alternate code, or defaults to the procedure’s base code—ensuring accurate billing per insurer requirements.
📄 Documents & Storage
- Large File Uploads: Maximum file upload limit expanded from 5 MB up to 2 GB.
- Storage Quota Settings: System administrators can customize the upload limit (defaulted to 500 MB, with a minimum configurable limit of 1 MB) to manage storage quotas efficiently.
📦 Packages & Bundles
- Draft Package Pricing: Fixed package pricing can now be adjusted freely while in Draft status. Pricing locks automatically once activated.
- Flexible Expiry Duration: The expiry duration field no longer requires a mandatory value and can be left empty.
🔧 Bug Fixes & General Enhancements
- Co-Insurance Zero Value Fix: Allowed setting Co-insurance to
0%to accurately reflect insurance plans providing 100% coverage (other benefit types still enforce values above zero).
